The problem

When complex risk needs a structured pathway

Some adults with serious mental disorder need more than ordinary community provision, but do not require a medium or high secure setting. Their care may involve legal restrictions, forensic history, significant risk behaviours, trauma, substance misuse, or repeated contact with secure care and criminal justice pathways.

Kent Street supports this level of need through low secure care, multidisciplinary treatment, structured rehabilitation and person-centred risk management.

Low secure care provides structure, treatment, rehabilitation and risk management in a secure therapeutic setting.

Who the model supports

For complex mental health needs and risk behaviours

We support adults whose mental health needs, legal status, risk profile or previous contact with services require a low secure environment: people detained under the Mental Health Act, and people referred through secure care or criminal justice pathways.

This is not generic supported living. It is low secure mental healthcare for people who need structure, safety, treatment and a clear plan.

Patients

Adults whose care requires structured treatment, rehabilitation, and a pathway to a less restrictive setting.

Safety and clinical planning

Safety, security and clinical planning

Safety comes from the team, the environment, the clinical plan and the governance around each person. Our model is built around multidisciplinary planning, structured risk assessment, rehabilitation, therapeutic support and clear review.
